The grudge in me (poem)
Tell me what do you see when you look at me?
A man? A body? yet surely there is more to see.
For within this heart is a grudge, waging war with the one above.
My every thought attacks my spiritual family, with daggers I fire as they were my enemy.
without a word uttered, i stutter in my mind to fund something kind, to say
and to my dismay i find that when I don’t pray, these thoughts seem to stay.
So instend of peace, i feast on holding a grudge
kept within it has become, a mark missed, known as sin.
and it would seem, it has chained me up like a bad dream
o i scream, HOW CAN I BE FREE?
and as I opened my heart to lord, it began to be,
as he revealed to me the proverb your about to see…
Hatred stirs up strife,
but love covers all offenses
